Jack Sprague – No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota Tundra Power Stroke Diesel 200 Race Preview
Jack Sprague on Racing at ORP:
“I love O’Reilly Raceway Park. It has always been a really good track for me. It is a technical track with unique characteristics. There isn’t another track on the circuit that comes close to ORP. The fans are always treated to an action packed race. The same goes for the drivers. There have been some incredible last lap finishes there and I have been fortunate to come out the winner a couple of times. Our No. 60 Con-way Freight Toyota should be good for Friday’s show. With it being a one-day event, you have to be strong right off the trailer. Our Wyler Racing team is strong and we’ve proven that all year. We’ve just had some tough luck lately.”
Jack Sprague on Racing in a One-Day Show:
“Running a one-day event somewhat separates the teams that are really on their game from the team’s that may be struggling,” explained Sprague. “I think my Con-way Freight team is on their game. We’ve had a bit of bad luck lately, but hopefully we’ll get the monkey off our back and get a good finish this weekend for Con-way, American Commercial Lines (ACL), Bicycle, and everyone involved with this team.”
Jack Sprague on his Motivation:
“I want to win more Championships. Certainly for my guys, for the Wyler’s and Con-way, Toyota, ACL, and Bicycle and everybody that’s involved with this deal. We’ve got a lot of great people involved with this race team and it would really cool to win another Championship for everybody. I’m only 42 years old and Skinner’s 50 and he’s rocking the world right now. So I know I’ve got a long time left. He actually encourages and motivates me watching him do what he’s doing right now. It’s certainly doable. He had a rough year last year. He had a year last year like I’m having this year, basically. He finished 10th in the points and was just miserable. But now, it’s like they can do no wrong. They’re running really well and they’re making great decisions and they’re getting it done. This year is probably out of the realm of possibility to win the Championship because we’re so far back at this point but we can still get in the top five and that’s what we’re aiming for.”
Jack Sprague will Rock ORP with His Race-Winning Ride!:
Crew Chief Tony Furr has selected chassis number 54 for Friday night’s Power Stroke Diesel 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park. This is the same truck that Sprague won with at Memphis and Martinsville last year and finished second with at Memphis and Mansfield earlier this year. Sprague will sport a special blue and yellow paint scheme Friday night and replica 1/24 scale versions can be purchased online at www.con-way.com/racing.
Jack Sprague Scheduled to Test at Bristol on Monday:
Jack Sprague and the Wyler Racing team are scheduled to test their Con-way Freight Toyota at the newly paved surface at Bristol Motor Speedway on Monday, July 23rd between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sprague and the Wyler Racing team will be one of 28 teams testing at the .533-mile oval that day.
Sprague’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Career Stats at ORP:
Jack Sprague has some pretty impressive statistics at O’Reilly Raceway Park. Sprague has raced in 10 events at the Indianapolis short track in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and has one pole, two wins, four top-five and five top-10 finishes. Sprague also has three NASCAR Busch Series starts at ORP where he has two 17th place finishes (1993 and 2002).
