Kevin Harvick Announces Sponsor of No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado

American Commercial Lines announces primary sponsorship of No. 2 KHI Chevrolet Silverado in 2008; Georgia Boot signs on as associate sponsor

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. (January 10, 2008) - Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) announced today a new partnership with American Commercial Lines (ACL), a leader in the marine transportation and manufacturing business. ACL will join KHI as primary sponsor of three-time Truck Series champion Jack Sprague’s No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado for the 2008 NASCAR Truck Series season.

“We are extremely excited about having ACL join KHI,” said Kevin Harvick, KHI co-owner.  “After such a successful year in the Truck Series in 2007, we see the addition of Jack Sprague and ACL as a winning combination.”

ACL will begin their sponsorship of the No. 2 Chevrolet with the season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. This will be the first of 15 races ACL will sponsor throughout the 2008 season.  An additional partner announcement for the remaining 10 Truck Series races will come at a later date.

“We look forward to a successful 2008 NASCAR season with Jack Sprague and the Kevin Harvick, Inc. team.  The partnership with KHI will bring greater visibility to ACL, improving our reach to prospective employees while offering exciting and unique customer entertainment, employee recognition and branding opportunities,” said Shayne Ingersoll, ACL Vice President of Human Resources.

Georgia Boot, the Official Boot Supplier of KHI, will come on board the No. 2 Chevrolet as an associate sponsor.

"Georgia Boot recognizes the marketing power of NASCAR and we wanted to align ourselves with KHI because it is one of the best teams in the sport,” said Doug Kamerer, Marketing and Product Line manager for Georgia Boot. “We consider our footwear to be 'America's hardest working boots' and we are so excited about partnering with NASCAR's hardest working race team."

Veteran Crew Chief Ernie Cope will be at the helm of the No. 2 Chevrolet for 2008.  Cope brings years of experience to KHI, having worked with such drivers as Ken Schrader, Jon Wood and Stacy Compton.

It started with a tough farm boot and the belief that boots should be able to work as hard as the people wearing them. Georgia Boot, ‘Americas Hardest Working Boot’.
